We could all use some, right about now.
I was thinking just that yesterday, not long after the Governors of Oregon and Washington States declared Stay-at-Home orders. Feeling an odd mix of emotions; a sigh of relief that decisions were made, and a growing anxiety about the many unknowns still out there, (Health and loss-of-income to name the two big ones) and knowing friends and family are feeling the same way.
I was thinking about how I would like to make up some little unexpected surprises for friends, you know, just a as small diversion from all of the non-stop news, and the forced family bonding that is now going on day four, five, or six (seven?!) for some folks.
You may or may not know that I love to bake, and I love to create fun packaging for baked goods gifts, and my mind started to whirl, as it does sometimes.
Before I knew it, I had made a fresh new ginormous mess of paper clippings and strips of ribbon in my newly cleaned and organized workroom.
(Ugh. I knew that was gonna be short-lived.)
Anyway, one idea led to another, and after a while, my papercraft project landed me in the kitchen, baking up a batch of chocolate chip cookies at about 8:30 pm. (I think Ralph was happiest about this part of my frenzied activities for the evening.)
About this time it stuck me that maybe other kindred spirits out there felt the same way, and I decided to add my newest papercraft creations to my etsy shop to share with fellow bakers looking for cute cookie packaging. (Digital here and hardcopy here. ) Also, baking is my superpower, but if you're not a baker, you could still make someone's day with a sweet little boxed or bagged store bought treat you can mail to them, or leave on their porch!
Stay well and stay safe, my friends!
