Mmmm, mmmm, mmmm MMM mmm. Tell me these don't absolutely scream autumn?!
These are about the all-time easiest little treats I have ever made, and they are not only yummy, but oh! so cute, too!
(Don't you agree?)
I found the recipe on Pinterest, and altered them ala' Sandra Lee...you know, semi-homemade style. The first time I made them, I used canned ready-made peach pie filling, and pilbury already pie crust.
Mmmm. Mmmmm. Mmmmmmmmm.
Yummy, and easy.
The next go round I made them with cherry pie filling, because that's Ralph's favorite.
So good.
And easy.
(I know I already said both of those things, but it so bears repeating.)
You simply cut out circles of pie crust. (I had a large circle cutter, but tracing around a ceral bowl, or sauce works just as well) put a spoonful of pie filling inside, fold over, crimp, then use a fork to poke holes, and they are ready to bake!
Once cooled, I brushed them with the thin frosting glaze in the recipe.
Oh yeah, these are winners in the autumn comfort food dessert arena, for sure, and you just might want to try them. What kinds of comfort food desserts do you create this time of year? I'm always looking for new recipes to try!
