I cannot believe I have never shared this recipe with you, but I searched through my blog, and it doesn't look I did. I've been making these little yummies for like ever, and they always please.
The best thing about them?
You can make the spread in advance, and keep it frozen, so when someone pops by, or you're wanting to have a little sumthin' sumthin' while you watch This is Us, you just pull it out and spread it on a few sliced cocktail sourdough, or rye baguette pieces, slide them in the oven on a cookie sheet and broil them for about 3 minutes (or less)
Mix the following ingredients in a bowl:(I just eyeball the amounts, but I would say they are all pretty equal, except that I go lighter on the onions)
Real mayonnaise
- shredded cheddar cheese
- bacon bits (or Bacos from the salad dressing aisle- honestly, these work great)
- diced green onions
This spread can go in the freezer, (and so can the little cocktail loaves for that matter) so you cna make a decent sized batch, and have it on hand for the entire holiday season.
