To say that I am a huge fan of comfort food is almost an understatement. Comfort food meals and desserts are my all time favorites! I know I shared this meal a long time ago with you all, but, mmmmmm mmmmm mmmm, is is so worth sharing again!
Here is all that is needed to whip up this aaah-mazing meal:
Your favorite canned or deli counter baked potato soup (I like Safeway's deli counter, but also like Campbells hearty baked potato soup just as well)
Small round sourdough loaf
grated cheddar cheese
crumbled cooked bacon (I just buy two strips at my meat counter in the grocery store)
chopped green onions
butter and garlic powder to rub over the bread loaf
Assembly of this yummy meal is super easy and quick. Cook and crumble your bacon, washa nd chop your green onions. Rub a pat of cold butter over the round loaf of bread after you cut a circle and hollow it out. Sprinkle it with the garlic powder (or whatever else you like) and pop the bread in the oven to get it golden brown and crunchy while your soup heats in the microwave.
Garnish, and modestly smile and accept the compliments as they roll in when you serve up this little bowl of heaven for supper.
