Is Valentine's Day a big day in your world? Trust me, I can make any day a big day, and I used to love me some Valentine's Day, especially when my kids were little. (Loved those school parties, and all the paper-crafting involved!) These days, though, I keep it more low-key.
My Ralph is a firm believer that Valentine's Day is one of the many Hallmark holidays (as he calls them) where folks feel pressured to buy a (Hallmark) card, and flowers or a box of candy that comes in a red heart shaped box, and he thinks showing fondness should not be capitalized on with a one-day-of-the-year event. I really can't argue with that, and nowadays our Valentine's Day is pretty much focused on the meal I plan. (You may recall the travel themed brunch a couple of years ago, here.)
I'm still planning supper for tonight, and I am sure a plan will unfold for me when I hit the grocery store. (I'm all about the tiniest of details, and right now I am kind of toying with a pie, using the "Sweetie-Pie" theme.....)
What about you? Do you make Valentine's Day a big day, or do you do it up small, or not at all?
