I'm getting down to the wire with my table setting plans! I will be spending most of today at Camas Antiques setting things up, and I wanted to share a preview of my last tablescape idea with you before I load up my car and head out.
I got the idea to go with a vintage ice skate (tied in with some orange pumpkins ) as my theme after I discovered this fabulous old sheet music book in my stash.
Doesn't that music book cover just scream first snowfall ice skating? The grey and orange colors were perfect, and I happened to have not one, but two pair of vintage ice skates.
I added some color and texture by adding socks coming out of the tops of them. Well, the gentleman's skates have socks, but I wanted rusty orange socks for the lady's skates, and was not able to find any. I found a sweater in the perfect shade of orange at a thrift shop, and I simply cut a good portion of the sleeves off, and viola'. They look just like socks, don'tcha think?
The rest of the details evolved from this point, and I'll share one more sneak peek, here...
