Are these a sweet memory from your childhood too? My Mom used to bake cakes or cupcakes and then use her leftover frosting with graham crackers as a little after school treat for my brother and me.
Comfort food, for certain.
(Way back in the day, before we all thought sugar was the devil.)
I'm serious when I say that I can't look at them without remembering sitting up at the kitchen counter (a 60's Formica...) in the swivel wicker counter stools, watching my mom create these little heaven-on-a-square wafer treats for us.
Isn't it funny how something like a song, or a perfume, or even a little dessert, can transport you back to a crystal clear warm-and-fuzzy memory of a time and place long ago?
Anyway.
With left over graham crackers from our indoor s'more party, and an over abundance of butter cream frosting left from last weekend's birthday extravaganza, it was a meant-to-be dessert, taking me back to pretty fond memories.
