Let me start by saying that it's easy to get carried away when you're doing a party of any sort with a theme. We're doing a sweet little bumble-bee theme for my daughter's baby shower, and let me tell you, I have come up with about a bajillion bee items, decorations, gifts, and food decorations.
The mind boggles.
I'm trying to keep it classic and classy, and not lean too far over the line of overload cartoon-cutesy and downright silly. Less is more, after all. I don't want our guests to make a bee-line for the front door once they see the decorations...(hehe...a little "bee" humor.)
Anyway.
I used the cute vintage looking packaging on the Burts Bee's Baby Products for my inspiration for the theme.
I created these sweet little invitations, and included the lyrics to an old Dean Martin tune, "Let me tell you 'bout the birds and the bees and the flowers and the trees, and a thing called love. (actually, I think I remember hearing it more by this guy...)
Now that the invites are completed and in the mail, we'll be moving ahead with the rest of the details, and I can tell you one thing for sure. It is going to be bee-utiful! (I couldn't help myself...sorry.)
