Oh, the double baby shower was lovely. I went (obviously) with a pink and blue vintage theme for the entire shower. We all had a fabulous time visiting and then watching the girls open a multitude of pink and blue gifts, oohing and aahing over each little treasure as they appeared.
The buffet table was such fun to set up, with the vintage baby scale, and little baby items like Beatrix Potter books, stuffed animals and the chalkware duckies nested in between the food.
We only played one game, which was guessing who's baby picture went with who. As guests arrived, we put each photograph on the mirror in the dining room, and when we were all settled in after much chatting and giggling (and tummy touching) I passed around each photograph and we guessed who they were. Surprisingly we pretty much got every single one right!
I had big tags on the guests of honor's chairs and we all sat and watched them open gifts. There were seriously so many gifts that I wasn't sure we were ever going to get through them all!(Seriously! We even had a small intermission in the middle of gift opening and I passed around more cupcakes!)
Each little tiny outfit was cuter (more cute?) than the last, if that is possible, and so many thoughtful gifts. Tiny shoes and pajamas and toys and nursery items. I had the rocking horse for Mr. Peanut, and Ms. Peanut got the rocking chair pictured up at the top of my post. Since her mama hasn't quite decided on the nursery colors, I only primed the rocker and will add all the details to the rocker as soon as she is ready with her color and theme. (Oh! For more ideas, check out my post on HomeGoods Openhouse blog for the details on my little buckets full of baby gifts )
*sigh* Babies certainly seem bring out the best in all of us.
