I wasn't going to share this until after the double shower, 'coz I know Peanut Roberts mama reads my blog...but she already saw this rocking horse in it's before state, so I guess it will be okay.
I actually bought this sweet little pony more than three years ago at a yard sale, fully intending to paint him up in some way or other and sell him in my then tiny little shop. There he sat, in the garage of the last house I lived in, waiting patiently for his make-over. I moved and he came along, to the new cottage garage, where he sat, still waiting, oh-so-patiently for his make-over, so he could be sold at a craft faire.
At last, his time has come, and who knew that what he had waiting for all along, at just the right time, was that he could have his simple-but-oh-so-perfect-for-a-very-special-little-boy make-over and stay in the family, going to live with one of the Peanuts?
Edited later in order to answer the questions on the pony's hair: I vacuumed his hair (yarn) and of course, gave him a good cleaning with Murphy's wood soap and some scratch cover. Then I simply took lengths of various ribbons and took 2 of the existing yarn "hairs" and tied the stip of ribbon (folded in half basically so the tie ended up at the center of each ribbon) throughout his mane and tail. Eeeeas-y.
