mid week holiday

    Independence Day is on a Wednesday this year. No long weekend this time, just a nice day off, right smack in the middle of the week.
     I am dying to make the dessert on the cover of the latest issue of Living. It sounds easy and delicious, and it looks fabulously patriotic.(Actually there are quite few recipes in this issue that look yummy and patriotic too)
    I am thinking abut hosting a pot luck Barbecue for the fourth of July this year. (I think I will host it the night before, on the third so we can enjoy a late evening of chatting out in the yard on with the warm summer nights we've been having) My back yard is shaping up so nicely that I am wanting to show it off. I am still surprised that I have somehow turned into a gardener.
     I am starting to think about decorations (I am a nut for flags and anything else patriotic)and favors and such.Oh, and  I'd like to make some of the candle holders that Cindy shared. Such a nice touch.
