Breakfast was wonderful. Such fun. The little sign I hung on the front door started things off. It reads "Welcome my little friend" in French.
Then I hung a pretty welcome banner from the toile wallpaper and black checked paper on the entry way mirror.
My friend loved all the special touches. She became suddenly single herself about a year ago. I don't think she gives herself enough little treats in life these days, so I wanted it all to be extra special for her.(I may need to surprise her with an Alexandra Stoddard book)
We had such a nice leisurely breakfast with our foofy little yogurt and fruit parfaits, our quiche and mimosas, and Nora Jones providing our background music. (I must admit however, that my friend probably thought I was a tad bit "off" when I began snapping pictures of our meal before we ate, explaining that my Blog friends would want to share the experience)
It was a delightful way to start out the morning, and it was stress free, with special thanks to my new oven.
I had almost forgotten how much I like to entertain. I think this could become a regular thing at my cottage.
