The Sewing Queen of northern Nevada and I had breakfast with the Newlywed's on Mother's Day. I had the table all set with my sewing themed treasures (Special special thanks to dear Audrey for the fabulous wooden spools! She sent them to me after I shared my idea of a sewing theme- thank you, Audrey!)
We began with the "Mother O' Mine" banner, made from scrapbook papers that I tried to coordinate like quilt fabrics.
The pictures don't do it justice, but trust me here, the table-scape (A term Sandra lee invented, and describes perfectly) was mucho cute. I tied cards of vintage buttons to the wire form (sorry the photo didn't show any of this very well) and a quotation. The quote on the dress form reads "A button asks little more than to be held, admired and worn close to the heart-". Pretty sweet.
I downloaded a free front that looks like cross stitching for the place cards, and the table cloth was an old quilt top shower curtain I had from the early 90's. Perfect for a table cloth because it wasn't as thick as a quilt. I also found a vintage "M" (for Mother or Mom!) applique and put on the guest of honor's plate.
Oh, and look at my fabulous new Mother's Day apron!Oh yes, the Maid-of-Honor sent it, don'tcha know. She thought it went great with my kitchen makeover, and she is right. I love it!
I hope the rest of you had as lovely a day as I did.
