So...you remember this chair?
(the photo does not do it justice- soooo much prettier in person!)
I dropped it off to be reupholstered some 5 weeks ago.
Well, I got a call last Wednesday saying it would be done Friday.
I could hardly wait to pick it up. Would it be cute? Too patch-work-ey? Gorgeous? Gawd awful!? The anticipation was killing me. KILLING me I tell you.
Drove to the shop with my daughter (the maid of honor) and got the chair. 3 words. Fab... U... Lous!
Not only fabulous, but soooooo comfy! BEYOND comfy really.
She redid the entire chair just as it was originally- a down cushion, tufted back with darling fabric covered buttons. Too cozy for words. After about, oh, 10 seconds of discussion, my daughter and I decided this chair was clearly not suitable for my shop. No,no, no. It needed to stay right here with me. It was simply meant to be! I am already envisioning myself reading books and sipping tea in this chair by a glowing fire, with my pups at my feet. (*sigh*) I can hear the words to that wonderful song from My Fair Lady- "Wouldn't it be Loverly?"
All I want is a room somewhere,
Far away from the cold night air.
With one enormous chair,
Aow, wouldn't it be loverly?
Oh ya, that's exactly how I feel about this darling, wonderful chair.
I am sending all of the extra fabric I bought to my Mom for her to sew coordinating pillows for me (she can give them to me as Christmas gifts- I promise to act so surprised!) Now, I need to decide WHERE I am keeping this new found treasure...and of course I will need to build an entire room around it...oh, how I love a project.
