I guess it's much better late than never, but...things could have been much easier for me at various points in my life, if only I'd learned this sooner.
I had a very Oprah-esque Aha! light bulb moment this past week, and I really "get" this now. Life is too short to spend my time worrying... obsessing... thinking (and over-thinking) about what the far off future holds, because, not only do I have no control over that at all, but it stops me from being happy right now. The only way to really live happy is to be fully present..in this moment. The future will take care of itself.

Think about this one for a moment. So true.
The thing is, this goes for things like health, time with people you care about...not only the material things. It reminds me of that verse in Big Yellow Taxi that goes, "Don't it always seem to go, that you don't know what you've got till it's gone?"
I have much to be thankful for.

"Don't say you don't have enough time.
You have exactly the same number of hours per day that were given to
Helen Keller, Louis Pasteur, Michelangelo, Mother Teresa, Leonardo da

H. Jackson Brown Jr
Oh my. I guess that puts things in perspective. With a bit less than two weeks until the Camas Vintage Street Faire, I need to get busy, and stop whining that I don't have enough time.

It's hard to wait around for something you know might never happen; but it's even harder to give up when you know it's everything you want.

I really like this quotation, because it is just so true. It's all about holding on to our hopes.

It's not about where you go,but what you do when you get there.
It's about making a place more alive.
It's being the person who gets the evening started.
Pretty good words to think on...don'tcha think? Guess where I found them. These words were inside the latest White House Black Market mailer.(in case you don't know what that is, it's a women's clothing store chain where everything is in shades of black...or white.) It's funny how we can find motivational thoughts in everyday things, huh? Just thought I'd share....

-Richard from Texas (Eat, Pray, Love by Elizabeth Gilbert)
Oh, how I love this quote. (I think another it's another way of saying, "Just do it.") If you've got a dream, (whether it's trying your hand at decoupage book pages to an old dresser, or planting the most amazing garden and supplying the entire town with incredible produce)...wishing won't make it so.
Get busy. After all....What have you really got to lose?

Take chances, take a lot of them. Because, honestly, no matter where you end up, and with whom, it always ends up just the way it should be. Your mistakes make you who you are. You learn and grow with each choice you make. Everything is worth it. Say how you feel, always. Be you, and be okay with it.
