What's in your hallway? I've got the family photo gallery goin' on there. I went almost a year with nothing on the walls in the hall. It looked OK to me bare...but, when I hung these pictures a few months ago, wow. What an improvement.
It warmed things up. Added so much charm. I love it.
With the weddings still "in progress" I kind of did things a bit backwards. I hung all my frames, and waited for the pictures to fill some of them. I did it this way so that I could arrange the frames in a fashion that worked visually as you look down the hallway. (I actually got this idea from my bestest friend since 5th grade- thanks Brigid!) I put the family photos I already had in many of them, but saved some for those fabulous wedding shots.
My frames come from all over the place. Some very old, some newer, most thrifted...or from TJ Maxx. Some are matted, some not. (It's amazing to me what a little matt can do for an ordinary snapshot.)
Also, I had a couple of old 1990's long skinny framed "country art" type things that I hung as well, because I like the shape of the frames.
Tonight I'm doing a little make-over project to bring them up to 2008. (I'll share the project later! Wait till you see it. So easy, cute and free!)
