Did I metion it was a surprise birthday trip?
We had to come up with a rather elaborate story and we still very nearly didn't pull it off, since we arrived at her home only to see her pulling out of her driveway.
(She is one chronically early woman, let me tell you.)
She wondered what we were doing there, and we handed her the "Agenda" for the surprise getaway...
We gave her a sash and a birthday tiara.(Of course.)
We loaded up and headed off to the coast...
We shopped, and ate, and laughed the entire time.
I got everyone matching pajammies.(Sorry, the picture isn't great, but trying to get a photo when you all need to be in the photo was a challenge...here is one taken with my phone, facing a mirror...)
(Yes, she wore her tiara proudly the entire trip, which added to the merriment, as people everywhere wanted to wish her a happy birthday.)
Oh, we had such a good time.....
Happy Birthday sung off key. Sand dollars collected. Countless calories consumed. Memories made.
The only thing that would have made it any better would have been if the other two girls in the family could have been there, but we weren't able to make things work out for my daughter-in-law and grand daughter to fly up... (but soon! The entire family will be together in early November!!!!!!!)
