I found the most fabulous coat the other day in a catalogue, (Ohmygosh! Do you love the details on the back?!)
...and that is when I realized that my love affair with the hideously hot warm summer weather and long days was over.
That, and the fact that we spent very nearly all of our Sunday watching football, (Go Seahawks!) and it feels not-quite-right when it's so warm outside that you have the fan on, and are sporting a sundress. The weather-guy on the news last night announced proudly that we are going to be hotter the next three days.
There's possible rain in the forecast next Sunday, and I am crossing my fingers that it does.
have lots to share from the incredible baseball themed party my
daughter pulled together for Keaton's big first birthday, but today I
just had to share the portion of the party where the little birthday
"Smash" cake came out...(Made with love by a very crafty and talented
...and we all sang "Happy Birthday".
He loves music, and when we all started singing, he began to chair dance a bit, and was smiling and laughing.
*sigh* This is why they say a picture is worth a thousand words.
Grand-babe number five celebrated his first birthday this weekend. (How cute is he?!)
My daughter asked that we get him new storybooks, and I wanted to be sure the book from me was extra special.
I decided to create a picture book about counting.
I enlisted the help of his brothers...A few weeks back I spent the weekend with the little men while their
parents were out of town, and we had a lot of fun posing with a vintage
suitcase, and balls, and trucks, and storybooks and bananas....
...along with photos from this past year with his cousins...
....the book takes him through his numbers, counting from one through ten...
... and it was all very easy to create!
I used an online company called MixBook for this project, but plenty of other companies, like Shutterfly and even Walgreens offer the same concept. They all have templates for you to use if you're not comfortable doing the layout yourself. I had an absolute ball creating this book, and I am very happy with the way the book turned out!
