Have you seen cold drinks served up in canning jars on Pinterest? I've seen the idea, and pinned it myself, although I wasn't sure when I would try it out.
Well, this past weekend we were at a fun outdoor party, and we got to experience this great idea first hand.
So clever, and I swear, every woman there was buzzing about how we'd all seen it on Pinterest, but none of us had given it a try! (Now, we were all trying to figure out when we could put this into action) The hostess had margarita's all mixed up and frozen, in the smaller (8 oz. I think) jars. She plopped them into an old tub full of ice, and all you needed to do was go on over and grab a jar.
Mmmmm, It made a perfect slushy as it melted.
Of course, you could do the same thing with lemonade, or any kind of punch, for that matter. I can't wait to serve up something cold this way the next time we entertain!

I haven't had a whole lot of 'Pinterest time' lately, so I hadn't seen this. But, oh my, what a fantastic, fun idea!

We did this with cocktails at our Memorial Day party. Such a hit and so much cleaner than making people pour their own. I also served pink lemonade in canning jars at my wedding 7 years ago. We served it as people came out of the church before they headed to the reception. My mom thought it was such a crazy idea. Now we laugh about how trendy it is!

Hi Tracey, we've made margaritas and these http://www.eclaireart.com/2011/07/peach-buzz.html with great success. We just keep a batch in the freezer and it's "instant party". I got the pretty, quilted 12oz Ball jars at Walmart. Now, back to Pinterest!

Hadn't seen this on Pinterest, but then I do limit my viewing to 2 hrs. per week or I'd be lost there forever! Your photos just scream "grab one and cool off". So refreshing looking!

Fantastic! Putting our Pinterest pins to work in real life! This is one of my favorite ideas and I love the idea of being able to close the lid and shake your drink up whenever you need a refresher. Thanks for sharing!
