Easter weekend will be here in less than 48 hours and I am still trying to fine tune my menus, clean house, pick up groceries, and wrap-up-finish-get-started-whatever about thrity-two twenty-six twelve projects around the house.
Anyone who knows me is not surprised.
I work best under pressure, apparently. Do you do that? Think of oodles of lil' things you are going to do around the house, and think of grand ideas that will absolutely make the room, or tablescape, or party (you fiill in the bank...)....think on 'em some more, and then, suddenly, you're having company and you want them all done..yesterday.
For instance, I tackled the new piece for the livingroom, and then, I spent a pretty good portion of one evening this week framing family pictures that I finally got around to having printed at Walgreens. (I've still got tot dust the hutch and figure out exactly where all of these newly framed photos will fit...)
Actually, when I consider that it has only been since the Superbowl that we got things rolling with decorating around here, that doesn't sound so strange to have so many projects still on the to-do list.
(I seem to use major events or holidays as my motivation I am noticing.)
(I guess I should start thinking about Mother's Day now.)
(And remember to be thankful that we will be out of town for Memorial Day weekend.)
*sigh*
Do you think I have time to pick up some pansies and get them potted after I grocery shop and hit the Post Office after work today?

I know everything will be perfect!! Wish we were there to celebrate Easter with everyone.

Tracey I could have wrote this post about myself...I always do my best decorating under pressure and it takes a special occassion to get it started. I regretted being that way when I was hosting a tea party brunch for my daughters baby shower. Oh my...all the thoughts and ideas that kept coming to me when I should have been sleeping. I transformed our 2 car garage in to a victorian parlor and I kept thinking of new ideas and vinettes to make that I ended up never going to bed the night before and worked right up to an hour before guests arrived and I had just enough time to shower and get dressed. Thankfully my friends know how I am always procrastinating and arrived early and helped me stage the food and beverages. I know your Easter entertaining is going to be perfect!!! Jeni

I'm thinking you need a personal shopper. Now that I'm up here, I'm available.

Without an out of town guest or special occasion I'm not sure I'd get half as much done. I'm sure you have the pansies under control by now. I picked some up a couple of days ago but I'll still be actually potting them at the last minute.
Have a blessed Easter!!!!!

Tracey, I think you have so many kindred spirits...near and far...(count me as one, please)...it seems we all "do our best work" under pressure....are we perfectionists?...or maybe its just that we always want things to be special...for everyone! (ourselves included) Carry on, girl...its the little touches that bring joy to life! ♥
