We really can't complain about the rain and the cold this year out here in the Pacific Northwest. It's been mild and dry for the most part, according to the weather guys on television, but we've had a few snow flurries on and off here the past week or so, and are expecting more rain this weekend. That being said, yesterday was a beautiful sun-shiny day and today is looking to be a fabulous repeat.
This weather inspires me, (along with daylight-savings time coming to an end this weekend)and I am oh-so-ready for spring! To plant flowers in pots, and pull out my springtime decorations. Even with rain in the forcast for this weekend, I decided that I'd go ahead and start with some faux spring touches at work, in the main foyer...
as well as the front porch at home. (Actually, it's not so much a true porch as it is a front door area.)I replaced the evergreen boughs with poppies, asperagus fern and some lavender...
...and added a couple of springtime wreaths to both front doors.
It absolutely boggles my mind at just how real the faux flowers look these days. Seriously, look at my first photo up there and tell me that those little lavender sprigs in the pot don't look real enough that you'd like to put your nose to them for a lil' whiff of lavender. Aaaah-mazing. Truly.
When do you begin decorating for spring? Do you wait until Easter, or have you already got me beat by a couple of weeks? How much "Spring" decorating do you do outside, and inside, of your home? I'd love to hear what all you do!

I started getting all my "springy" decorations out too! I love the boots, thanks for the inspiration.
Oh & please stop by my blog I used your flag template I purchased way back, for my daughters baby shower cake!

I have done alittle here and there around our home the past few weeks. Nudging Spring along! I invite you to come on over and check out my Spring Basket hanging on our front door. Then of course I've got my birds out and about on our mantle. Have a wonderful sunny day!

I've added a few touches too. We can't complain about our winter this year, that's a FIRST, but it's exciting gearing up for warmer temps.
I agree the faux flowers have really improved. I was never a fan of the fake ones until recently. I sprayed mine with that spray to help waterproof shoes. It seems to be working.

Hi Tracey! I moved to southern California from Reno last fall (do you remember me in Reno?). I've had a great time collecting cactus plants for my little porch area. And, I love that I don't have to think about watering them!

Had a day off from school so I put up my spring/Easter decorations today. I always think of my mom when I do that, since many of my decorations were ones she made--beeswax rabbits pulling carts, bunnies made from vintage damask napkins, hand painted blown-out eggs. And all my glass chickens, ducks, and roosters on a nest came from her. It is fun to get them out and think about how much she loved spring after our long NE winters!

I usually start in March with as much "spring" as I can to get rid of the winter duldrums. Then I grandually add the Easter to the spring. However, haven't started this year...yeeks, I better get busy. Love your boots...so cute for a sprign porch.

So glad you mentioned that the lavender was not real. :) I am a sucker for lavender plants and I would have been the silly girl bending over in the lobby trying to smell them. :) hehe (Speaking of, I must swing through again and see all of your cute decorating....And of course the cool people you work with too!)
