Ohmygosh,People! A week from today many of you (by you, I mean not me) will have warmed up your car to head out shopping at 2:00 A.M. for all of those crazy-mad day after Thanksgiving holiday deals. The rest of you (by you, I mean me) will be recovering from eating far too much stuffing and cranberry sauce, enjoying my Christmas Playlist, and getting things holly-jollied around the house.

Because of my work and travel schedule I have limited time to decorate and really enjoy my festive home, so I am almost close to be finished with my decorating. The weekend after Thanksgiving I listen to my Christmas music, watch Christmas movies, and sit with my lit tree just enjoying my favorite time of the year. And I may run out to do a little shopping in the afternoon after all the midnight and two oclock shoppers have gone home.

Im with you Tracey, I dont join the masses at black friday and I wont be going to the mall Thanksgiving night (sheesh!). The whole day is all about family and I wont let shopping intrude on that. I usually pull out Christmas that friday and start fluffing the house. Some Christmas music, candles, the youngest will be home from college so we can spend a little time together:>) I hope your Thanksgiving rocks, lol.THanks for the chance at this book, it looks wonderful!

I like to spend my Thanksgiving weekend putting away the fall decorations and I light the window candles Thanksgiving evening at dusk. I slowly put my Christmas things out starting with my Christmas quilts and wallhangings. I will especially be taking it slow this year as I just had knee replacement surgery and I think it will be a blessing in disguise as I may even enjoy the process more by doing it slowly! My daughter does the whole crazy black Friday thing with a couple of her aunts. It gives them time together and I get time to spend with my now 8 year old granddaughter! My favorite way to spend the weekend after Thanksgiving is visiting and cooking for all my family still at my home. The grand kids and I will be baking Christmas cookies. When all have returned to their homes on Sunday I sit quietly with a hot cup of tea remembering the fun. Then I break out the Christmas cards to work on.

I love to put away the fall things, the party things, enjoy the leftovers and remember Thanksgiving Day. I always spend the weekend of Thanksgiving doing all of the things I have not finished yet since I work full-time. This years those items are finish painting my kitchen cabinets, organize home office, and clean out a few closets. We dont decorate our house until Dec 1. I always clean up Thanksgiving dinner then head out to camp out for the sales. Its not my idea of fun but my sister loves it and I love her so off I go. Then I get home in the wee hours of the morning and head to bed and sleep late. I pack up all the Thanksgiving stuff and start getting out the Christmas decorations. I fit a fun movie in the weekend somewhere and start planning my Christmas baking and shopping. It becomes the offical Christmas season to me :) That book looks great! Sure am thankful to have a chance to win it :)

For 35 years weve always decorated our tree the night after Thanksgiving. Then we spend the rest of the week-end watching holiday movies and decking our halls. Just being together to launch the holiday season is priceless!

We spend the weekend *preparing* for my sons birthday party. His birthday is right before Thanksgiving, and we have his party the first weekend in December. Last year we had an elaborate shark theme, and I spent three days working on his cake. He has a few days left to come up with a theme this year.I like having something else to think about between Thanksgiving and Christmas, this way I can dive into Christmas with both feet once the birthday party is over!! (Plus get in bonus cake decorating practice, which I really need!!)

Hi Tracy!! My favorite way to spend the weekend after Thanksgiving is being with my 2 newbee teenage boys. I am trying to do something different this year, since we have not wanted to do Christmas since my husband, their father died 10 days before Christmas 3 yrs ago. I think we will go out looking for a FRESH LIVE Christmas Tree instead of our old artificial Christmas Trees. This is the first yr. we are semi looking forward to Christmas. I spend the day after Thanksgiving decorating for Christmas while all the others are busy shopping. The rest of the weekend is spent tweaking and sewing.Thanks for all the great decorating ideas through the years. Ive pinned several of your ideas. Believe it or not, the burlap tablerunner with a fat ruffle that the Sewing Queen made currently has 159 repins! Maybe one day Ill get around to sewing one for my own table.

Oh My Gosh. This is my FAVORITE Christmas book! I dont own my own copy, but I take it out of the library every year around Thanksgiving to get me in the holiday mood. I so love the soft whites in this book that make an easy, seemless and peaceful holiday seem within reach.My favorite way to spend the weekend after Thanksgiving is eating leftovers and planning (not doing yet!) for the holiday.I so hope I get picked!!!!!

My favorite way to spend the weekend after Thanksgiving changes every year. When my kids were little I would shop like crazy hoping to find the latest craze on the shelf for me to scoop up like a prize. When my kids were in high school we would most likely spend it in the gym watching my sons basketball team play the alumni. When they were in college that weekend was great to fill up my daughters car with goodies to get her thru the first few weeks of December until the holiday break. Now that my husband and I are empty nesters, Thanksgiving weekend will be both reflective and filled with hope of the upcoming Christmas seasons. The weekend after Thanksgiving, I usually enjoy making yummy broth from the turkey carcus and putting up the tree. This year we are in the middle of a remodel, so I will be decorating vicariously through books and magazines as well as through my friends homes and my favorite retail stores.Id love to have the book you are offering to help me through this time :)Brenda

After Thanksgiving I love to go shopping with my three adult daughters and have lunch with them as we jostle the crowds and have a true bonding time. Then I pull out the Christmas decorations and start decorating our home while sweet Christmas music is playing in the background.
