All those goodies that end up in my booth space are found on some form of hunting expedition.
Okay, I stole the title for my blog post from my weekly thrifting pal. (It was just so perfect that I had too.) Every Tuesday we meet up at our booth spaces at Camas Antiques and then share a car ride in an attempt to save a few pennies on gasoline as we hit our local GoodWill thrift stores. We save a few more pennies by skipping a pricey restaraunt lunch and instead, make a weekly run to the border for the two dollar "Meal Deal" that we eat while driving and chattering between bites of our burritos.
Anyway.
I was noticing yesterday as I unloaded my latest finds into my garage that I always seem to find things in groups, or collections. My latest stockpile, completely unintentionally, appears to be pedestal tables...
and lampshades....
and baskets.
I think it's funny how these collections just somehow morph from one item into an assortment of three, or six or nineteen, and I am wondering now what my next collection will be.

It's so much more fun to shop with a friend, isn't it? Until they grab something we covet. But we have to let it roll off our back. We'll get the next cool thing they wanted.

I love Goodwill Hunting....lol! I did notice that you had a thing for lampshades and tables :). Your stuff even looks good just hanging out in the garage. Thanks for being a great junk buddy!

Some days you are just in a certain frame of mind. I do this. I will find myself looking only at baskets or just buttons. etc. I don't know why. Your groups or collections are always beautiful and productive.

Tracy - There is a blog called Mr. Goodwill Hunting. Take a look. You will enjoy his thrifting! He's quite a character.

And I , for the life of me, can NOT find a used pedestal table for a reasonable price anywhere!

You know, we have the same hobby that turned into a lucrative business. I scour thrift shops and flea markets looking for treasures that I can sell on Ebay. I discovered that there is money on vintage stuff such as old toys. They fetch for thousands of bucks online. Just like any business, it also involved the basics, like accounting and such, so it's not easy at all. But it's a lot of fun.
