Carter's Mama has been hard at work with oodles of home projects, as well as getting ready to leave the country in just a few days (more on the latter later.) One of the re-do's she did recently was the home office.
Formerly the formal living room of the home, it has now been transformed into a fabulous home office workspace, (there is also a huge great room style family room so the living room was never used at all) complete with plenty of storage for gift wrap, craft items, computer supplies, and multiple spaces to work.
She added some whimsy and style by using her Silhouette machine to cut out vinyl lettering for a quote on the wall, and big bold numbers on the cupboard that were just installed from a closet organising company.
It's amazing what a little touch of the unexpected does to take a room from good-and-workable to wow-and-wonderful, don'tcha think?

Such a smart move. Most people never use their living rooms. Why have a room that isn't being functionally used.

What a great space! And I love the numbers and quote. :o)
Have a nice weekend Tracy.
Sincerely, Trish

I LOVE this! Now I want one of those silhouette machines! This is gorgeous and functional!

What a fabulous space. I think I need a silhouette machine too. ( I have a cricut but it looks like you can do so much more with a silhouette.) What a great move to use a space that never gets used. (speaking from experience!) Thanks for sharing her room.

It is abundantly clear that your daughter has great style! Like mother like daughter. I love the shade on the chandelier. It gives it such a modern feel!

I am soooo jealous. What an amazing workspace. Maybe I should swap out my "Sitting Room" and my Office as the sitting room is bigger.
Love - Love - Love the crystal chadelier and the built in cabinets...Oh and the whiteboard/calendar and the quote...and - and- and..

The "perfect" solution to a room that's seldom used! I love everything about it . . . the wall built-ins, big calendar, door numbers, quote, and chandelier!

Do you know the name and brand of the paint color she used? I love it! I've been searching for a blue/gray/greenish color for my bedroom...it's been a challenge to get just the right color.

Hi Tracey!
what a fabulous room make-over! I love it. Reminds me a little of Pottery Barn (which I also love) :)
happy weekend!

Love the room and especially her lamp - can you give us more information on it?

Amber, the paint was silver sage from Restoration Hardware. LOVE this paint, but it looks VERY different in different light. I have it in my guest room too and it looks like a totally different color. I love both, but they look different so, test it out first.

Thanks for the paint color Carter's Mama! I learned the hard way in the past way to always test paints first. I've tried so many colors for my bedroom, maybe this will finally be the one!

That looks great, Tracey! What a great idea, too, for a room that gets little use in its traditional form. I'd love to do that to my living room, but we are looking to downsize so I have to keep it intact for selling purposes. Next house I want a room I can call my own though ~ home office and craft room in one!

What a fabulous idea for an unused living room! I looove it! I've often thought of making ours into my creative work space too!
Her lettering and numbers make it so special! Tracey, thanks so much for sharing this with us! Debbie @ Cottage Hann~Me~Downs
