First off, thank you all so very very much for all of the heartfelt birthday wishes and comments yesterday here on my blog and on FaceBook!!! I had an amazing birthday and am enjoying the start of my new year! Now, I'd like to share the next room on my Cozy-New-Home-Tour...my Living room. Like the rest of my new home, it's petite. Cozy, really. The pictures above show the view as you enter the room, and behind the sofa. As you can see, I moved most of my mirror collection. (All that would fit, at any rate)
I ended up taking the doors off of my antique armoire and using it to hold my TV, which seems to be working out quite nicely (Although I still need to move the cords on my iPod docking station and speakers to the back, so please ignore the cords in this picture)
Over the pony wall you can see a tiny bit of my dining room. I know the pictures make it hard to visualize the exact size and space I have here, but it's extra hard to capture an entire room when space is so limited!!!
I ended up putting my Christmas tree behind the sofa, (all decorted, but haven't put the tree topper on it yet.) but you still can see it from the dining room and living room, so I am happy with the way things turned out here.

WOW! You have made it just wonderful! How cozy. I sure could use your advice on my "very big" living room that I just can't "cozy up" on my own! Again, your place is just lovely!!! So inviting!

You could make anything look cozy and inviting! It looks like home.

Absolutely charming! You've got a way of making your rooms look like they jumped off a magazine cover. With all your "spare time" (ha) have you considered offering decorating services -- you'd be a natural. Can't wait to see part 4!

You've been busy!! I too love that sofa. It's truly a cozy nest. It looks like you've lived there a long time. The sofa, pillows and blanket look very inviting haha. You deserve to throw yourself down and watch an old Christmas movie.

Your new home may be small but you've given it such style and made it yours. I love what you've done with each room. Can't wait to see more!

Your new cozy home looks wonderful and -what can I say -really cozy. You've moved right in and made it your own! Love the mirrors and the reflection from your pretty tree.

I have to agree with Barb in CA that a design featurette on the blog - to help out those who are more design challenged would be amazing!
Every room you do looks instantly lived in and homey... so lovely!

I think it is amazing that you moved, got things in place, celebrated your birthday, and decorated for Christmas in such a short amount of time. What are you, the energizer bunny? It looks beautiful and I, too, love the reflection of the tree in the mirrors.

Amasingly adorable! Looks so warm and cozy. Next time you're in SO Cal would love for you to stop by and redo my whole house...say next week? Well, a girl can dream, can't she.
Thanks for sharing. Nancy in So Cal

Looks fabulous and like you've been there for quite a while! I love the turquoise lights on the tree. I still don't have my tree up. Also, don't feel bad about the size...keep in mind some of us have never had the pleasure of living in something larger. Downsizing is "in" now, anyway. ;-)

I have to say it. Put the doors back on the armoire!!!!! LOL! I've waited 20 years to get an armoire to house our ugly TV and electronics so I wouldn't have to look at it. Did I miss the boat? :D

The doors were removed from the armoire so I could see the tv. Otherwise I could watch television!

Cozy is fun once you change your way of thinking. I've lived in so many different sized homes. It was a constant battle of getting-rid-of and then buying-again. It got to be very expensive, but I am so grateful for the experience. One thing for sure, I'm enjoying the "final" downsizing to rid myself of the things not needed anymore now that we are settled.

I love the charm! But what impresses me the most is that you are a mother who will pick up and move everything (and sell lots too) to be close to your daughters. They are very lucky to have you. Hope you all enjoy a very Merry Christmas.

so fun to see! It looks beautiful, of course. I'm looking at an apartment about this size, so it's nice to see what can be done!
