My daughter is throwing a good friend a baby shower at the end of the month, and I got to design and make the invitations. The Mommy-to-be and her hubbs have elected to not find out the sex of thier baby, and will find out the way most people in my age group did...at delivery!
I haven't seen the nursery, but I'm told it's done up in a black, white and sunny yellow theme, complete with the words "You are my sunshine" painted on the wall. (How cute does that sound?!)
*sigh* It's been a while since I helped in creating some party things, and I had forgotten just how much I enjoy it. I'm excited to be helping with the behind-the-scenes details for this fun party, and rest assured, I'll be sure to share pictures from the shower decorations later!

Love the invites!!! And I love the theme of their room even more! How precious! My daddy use to always sing me this song. Have an awesome day!

Hi Tracey,
So cute! I have been hearing there is a trend for parents-to-be to go back to being surprised! That is, in a way, sooo refreshing, in a world of what seems sometimes like too much technology! Anyway, I did want to e mail you privately but my computer was not displaying your email address for me: sorry for the public flogging and please don't take my nit-picking the wrong way, but I noticed 2 typo's on the invite I wanted to pointout to you before they go out! There is a 'm' before Lindseys's name where you reference where to park and you did not include Lindsey's e mail for the RSVP. Again, it is just my hyper-attention for detail at work all the time! Beautiful invites! Can't wait to see what else you come up with! Cupcakes? I am thinking sunflowers and bumblebees!...Always love your sunshine perspective on life!

How unique. I love the colors. My neice made her own wedding program a few years ago. She was big into theater at the time and she divided the wedding ceremony into Act 1, Act 2, etc. I thought that was clever.

So pleased that the couple is waiting to find out the sex of their baby. Kinda spoils the surprise if you don't.
Love the colors..........and then add some bright sunflowers and you will definitely have a shower to remember.

So neat...i'm so envious. Not about having my own baby shower, but about being able to create such sweet invitations. You certainly did a wonderful job and everyone involved must be so grateful that they have you available to them.

Love the duck diaper pin graphic!
It brings back memories of diaper pins, cloth diaper and pampers before they had plastic tapes ... you know, back in the day when you could only guess the sex of the baby with low-tech methods such as how "high" you were carrying, and the babies heat-rate!
These are beautiful and crisp. Nice design!

Hi Tracey- Your invitations are so pretty and what fun colors the couple are using. Can you tell me what program you used to create your invites? I am giving two showers this spring and would love to try creating some. There is just something about a beautiful invitation-- it just sets the mood for the party.
I love your ideas!!

Ive shared this before, but here it is again...the program I continue to use is called Printshop by Broderbund. I originally had Printshop Ensemble III when I had a PC, but its just called Printshop for MAC now that Im on my MAC Laptop...an easy, really inexpensive program that is user friendly...

It's a surprise no matter when you find out... before or after the birth.
I would guess the anticipation would be heightened if you knew the baby's sex beforehand, and not lessened. Like Christmas, it's all in the knowing what's coming!
(this is all speculation as my children were born before such advanced technology!)

Hi,
This is quite an interesting post. I really enjoyed reading it. I agree with Carly that it is definitely a surprise no matter when you find it.

Hi Tracey I love your invite and would love to do something like it for my shower. Could you please email kai_7900@yahoo.com your email address? I just have a few questions.
Thank you so much!
