That seems to be true in the case of my friend's choice in appliances for her kitchen anyway.
Mmmm hmmm. Isn't this range stunning?! It's not a vintage piece.
Nope.
It's new. She did in fact buy a vintage range, but when the inspector took a gander at it, he informed her that it would not pass some sort of code. Disapointed, she gave the vintage range to a relative to put in his cabin, where the code wasn't an issue. She then found these amazing new-to-look-fabulously-retro appliances and the rest, as they say, is kitchen heaven history. (She also got a wall oven, and a coordinating fridge, shown here in a not-so-fabulous photo I took, but I wanted to share anyway...at least you cna get the idea of how great they look in her kitchen...oh, and I was lovin' the fact that she had the foresight to think to add a modern day touch- a flatscreen TV in a cupboard that was hard to reach anyway...so perfect for keeping an eye on the football game while cooking the bird and prepping the feast on Thanksgiving.)
Pretty cool, huh?
**On another note entirely, I am thrilled to share thta I have been featured today on Jenny Doh's wonderful Crescendoh site! Check the site out here!**

All I can say is WOW!!!!

Hmmm, now let's see - where could I add some vintage-look appliances? Love the look of your friend's choices and that TV is a genius plan!

Oh, That range cost the earth and is worth every nickel. I can't remember the maker, but once upon a time I used to drool over that very model. In the end... next house. It's lovely.

Those are super fabulous appliances- and definitely more expensive than any old stainless steel. We researched them for our kitchen, but alas, had college for 2 girls to pay for. I still have them on my "someday" list :) Thanks for sharing.

I believe they are Heartland appliances. I looked at some like these but they are very pricey! Looks great in her kitchen!

I think they are Heartland appliances too. They use to sell them in our small town stove store.
They are wonderful and work much better than the old vintage ones.... but they are very expensive.
Beautiful kitchen your friend has.

Congratulations on the feature Tracey.
There was a time when I would have loved to have had retro appliances like your friend, now I'm more interested in the TV in the upper cabinet :)
