The thrill of the hunt. The satisfaction of turning trash into a treasure. Yes, those are good reasons to junk, but for me, the ultimate moment of pure and complete nirvana is when I find something exactly (or very nearly exactly) like some piece I have created, for sale at some insane price somewhere.
That's what happened with my fabulous free-coz-I-traded-my-old-set-and-reinvented-this-set dining room table. Mmmm hmmm. I got a Horchow catalog in the mail last week, and there it was....page 23 to be exact...my table...or very nearly my table. (I am going to be weathering mine a bit more with sandpaper this coming week! I love that look!) For the price of $2400 delivered, you too may have one of these lil' beauties from Horchow.
Now, that's what I'm talkin' about.

Woohoo! Not only does it look beautiful, but you saved a bundle over buying. I love when I find stuff like that too.

Cool! I love thrifting too, for all of the same reasons, and because I love sharing them with fellow bloggers and seeing their finds as well!

Thought your trade was genius from the moment you posted it the first time. In fact I copied you a little bit. I bought a similar one at a consignment store for $150 and painted the legs too. Only I use it as a design for my design business.

Yeah, I love that kind of 'thrill', too! Kind of like when I bought a little (new) Parisian style table and 2 chairs at an antique market for $45 and a couple of months later saw the exact same set in the front window of a beachy high end interiors store for $350 - yes, I said $350 - almost 10 times what I paid. I was so happy!
