I spent the bulk of yesterday out thrifting with my daughter all around Portland. We found lots of great treasures, and I wasted no time at all getting things polished up, and tagged and taking them down to my booth space. I think this unique old typewriter was my daughter's personal favorite find. See how the metal rod things stick way up? It reminds me of butterfly wings there. A very unique design, and it has just the right amount of rusty patina.
Oh! How about these shiny lil' silvery buckets? Kind of perfect for an elegant Easter table, don'tcha think? I love the idea of an elegant tablescape..picture these on one of the Sewing Queen's burlap runners. The burlap with the bling, so to speak. Yummy.
This white glassware basket was one of my favorite finds...perfect for holding rolled up napkins on an Easter buffet set up.It's a bit hard to tell in this photo, but it is a very large basket- longer than a butter knife, which is why I think it would work so well for a buffet table.
We had so much fun out thrifting! So many sweet accessories....my booth space is really filled to the brim, and that makes me happy. My five days off from the bank were put to really good use!

WOW...great "treasures". I really enjoy reading your blog. Quick question. I am building a new house and you have inspired me to try my hand at painting furniture. I took your "Robin's Egg Blue" paint recipe to Home Depot and had them custom mix it. It came out more of an "appley green", no hint of blue. I painted the piece and put a dark glaze on the chest. I am happy with it, for my first piece, but am wondering if HD didn't get the recipe right. What do you think?

Hi there Pat,
No, it sounds like they did something VERY wrong...if you
like the color, no worried, but...the color is a more blue than green
true Robins egg blue.

Great thrifting finds! I remember having a typewriter very much like that one at our house when I was young. Where did it go?
Any Easter table ideas for a front porch Easter lunch in the country?

Wow, you really found some fabulous things! Where are your favorite spots in Portland?? I haven't been thrifting over there for a long time.....I usually hit Monticello & occasionally Stars, but since moving to Vantucky ;-), I don't get across the river much!
