I have a thing for vintage flatware. I love the patina and the feel of old silver ware, not to mention all of the wonderful detail work on the handles. Oh, and all of the different types of utensils. Ice tea and sugar spoons, butter knives...I love 'em all.
My latest favorite thing to do with these little gems is to bundle them up with scraps of lace and old seam binding and nestle them in with treasures on my dining room hutch. (Of course, I have so many pieces that many of them are in my booth at Camas Antiques)
I'm off for a morning of thrifting with Carter's Mama now, and I am hoping to find more vintage flatware to add to my collection...and my booth space. I'll share my finds of the day a bit later!

"What's that? What's that you say? You say today is...Saturday? G'bye. I'm going out to play!"
a snippet of the poem "Sick" by Shel Silverstein.
I forgot today was Saturday, but you said you were going out thrifting and that reminded me that the Acton Women's Club is having their annual rummage sale this morning!
Gotta go!! Bye!!!

I LOVE vintage flatware and silverware (particularly the threesome pictured)! It is a true delight!
Does your booth at Camas Antiques have a website? I'd love to peruse it!

On your March 5th posting you have a picture (the 4th one down) that has three of my pillows, I believe. The two chenille pillows for sure, and a heart shaped quilted one, possibly. I live in the St. Louis area and made hundreds of pillows and sold them in three different areas but I recognize these because I still have a couple in my home! I've been following your site for some time and it was such fun to see my pillows. I hope you'll contact me and tell me where you found them. Thanks

HI Tracey! Love the silverware, love how you bundled it. I also loved your little chair in your other post. That is adorable.

Hi Tracey: I continue to look forward to your "adventures". I just learned of a new magazine that might be something you'd like -- it's called "Flea Market Style". I've only seen the cover (drool) but I will be looking for it! For now they don't offer subscriptions but on their web site they list places to find it (http://fleamarketstylemag.blogspot.com/). Have a great weekend!
