Joe is most definitely the king of display. A true master. I popped over to Camas Antiques to fluff my booth after my day at the bank, and I stopped dead in my tracks when I saw the progress he had made on his fabulous window arrangement. (Actually, I was so taken in that I think I even drooled.)
He even staged the entrance to the window display from inside the store, making it a new focal point!
There was a slight glare due to the outside street lights and the window glass, so you'll have to look past that, but...wow. Take a look yourself....
I am absolutely dying to see exactly what fabric and all is under the wrapped settee in the display. I know it is going to be a feast for the eyes.
All of the incredible items you see in the window will be for sale come Friday, when the Camas Antiques 6th Anniversary sale begins. There will be prizes for the first 50 shoppers each day, and sales in most every booth space, including mine. (I am picturing the line of shoppers waiting for the store to open, tapping the window chanting "Open, open, open!" like on that old Mervyn's commercial, aren't you?)
I can only imagine how quickly this gorgeous window display is going to be picked over, and Joe will then return to restock with more amazing finds....and more inspiration for us all.

Wow, what an awesome display window...can I move in? :-) I always enjoy your blog entries...you inspire me by the way you are following your dreams!

Oh yes! I am going to have my *honeymoon* in that area the second week of July and seeing as this was the VERY FIRST BLOG I EVER READ (about 1000 years ago) I will have to take a wee journey to the Camas Antiques and have a boo around... will you be going to Farm Chicks this year? Please say YES!

Window dressing is a true art, and man, does he have it. That display will surely draw traffic.

Wow! That rusted tin absolutely makes the display! Gives me lots of ideas. Thanks for posting! (Wouldn't you love to see the inside of Joe's home?)

His display has so many wonderful surfaces and textures and subtle colors. Still it's those strawberry plants in front that call to me most--I am just a little ready for Spring.

Gosh I wish I could visit Camas Antiques myself! But since I'm on the east coast I'll continue to appreciate (and drool over) your awesome pics! I'm really looking forward to seeing that window when it's your turn!
Blessings!

Now this is the way an antique store should look. Fabulous displays....I just spent a couple of weeks traveling and stopped by many antique stores, all were dark and without interest. There are a lot of store fronts out there that could take a lesson from the great display artists at Camas Antiques. Thanks so much for sharing Tracy.

I live in Texas...I don't give a flip about what's at camas antiques...why do you keep writing about this crud? What happened to the projects and DIY's you used to post? You just lost me as a reader.

Whoa - someone's cranky! I'm in Texas and I do give a couple of flips about what's happening at Camas Antiques! LOL :) Nancy

I love it too - and I live about 20 minutes from Camas ... Poor Sue, clearly she's not having a good day ! (That's the first nasty thing I've ever seen anyone write ...)
Posted by: Patti | March 25, 2010 at 11:55 PM
I love to read about Camas and see your photos. Don't let Sue, who is obviously having a bad day, deter you from what you want to feature.
Posted by: Brenda | March 26, 2010 at 10:03 AM
Sue, Tracey is going to be doing a window display there next. I'd say that's a BIG DIY project in the works! You should stay tuned.....
Posted by: Betsy Derr | March 26, 2010 at 09:28 PM
Good riddance to bad rubbish (Susie). I really doubt that you were on her "blog payroll," so maybe she can turn to one of her actual blogger employees for to write something especially for her. ;o) Did I say that out loud?? LOL Thanks so much for the kind and generous words about Joe's window efforts!! We are very honored to be with The Camas Antiques Family for the anniversary celebration.

Definitely eye candy. I would love to move right in...or better yet move all of it into my home! Thanks for sharing Tracey!
