When I first arrived in town here about two months ago (Can it really have already been two months?!) I received an email from a wonderfully thoughful blog reader (and former shop keeper) offering to take me around to all of her favorite thrifting spots.
We finally got things coordinated and spend this past Wednesday morning out and about, thrifting and chatting. (just wait until you see my latest treasures!!) My new friend even went to the trouble of creating maps for me (knowing I was directionally challenged!) so I could find these fabulous places again at some point! Thank you so very much, AJ. I had the best time!
Today I will be finding my way over to Monticello for the first day of thier holiday event, (if you see me there, come say hello!) and then tonight, I will head over to my beloved 4th Avenue in sweet lil' Camas, as it's the First Friday event, (All the shops, including Camas Antiques will be open late!)and the annual Christmas Tree lighting ceremony.
*sigh* Living in the pacific northwest. I love it.

It sounds like it will be delightful! I'm so glad you are happy!

So glad you are loving Portland - have lived here for 28 years. I would love to know where you went thrifting. I am a beginning thrifter and need some suggestions other than Goodwill!

Tracey,
It was MY pleasure to show you around Washington County. So fun to meet a fellow blogger in PERSON, after getting to know them via their blog!
Have you noticed yet that you left one small bag of thrift goodies in my car??? It's the one with the rolling pin and mirrored wall sconce.
Let me know when/where I can meet up with you and give them to you. With the holidays and getting stuff done for your booth AND moving in the next few weeks, I know you are going to be SUPER busy. So if we can't hook up until after Christmas, that's not a problem. I'll just hang on to them until 'whenever'.
Maybe the next trip you plan out to the BIN store, I can meet you there and give it to you???

I can't wait to see your finds. I knew you were going to love it up here - and there are so many places to garage sale and thrift. I'd like to know where you went, too. I take my dear, little mother thrifting and to special places every Friday. Today we're off to see the Pittock Mansion - all decorated for Christmas! ~Adrienne~

So glad to hear you're settling in and how wonderful to have a guided tour of thrifting! I'm going to Monticello on Monday and plan to stop in Camas on Tuesday on my drive out to the Gorge. I look forward to checking out your beautiful wares. -amy
