I made it to the Monticello Holiday event opening day just a few minutes after 8:00 a.m when the event opened. The booth spaces were fabulous, with so many wonderful ideas to inspire! Today's post is mostly pictures, because there was so much to see, and
the old saying that a picture is worth a thousand words really rings
true here.
I wandered through the huge mall for nearly two hours before finally making my way to the checkout; my head spinning with inspired ideas for my own booth display at Camas Antiques....
Hands down, there were two items that literally every booth had tweaked to their own style...
First, Christmas stockings....in burlap, cotton, vintage fabrics- and each one more charming than the last.
The second hot ticket were all of the many bottle brush trees....
green, pale pinks, or bleached...
glittered, mounted on vintage candlesticks, and sugar bowls, displayed in a variety of clever ways, atop silver candlesticks or sugar bowls, and in every size imaginable.
The event goes through the holiday season, and the vendors will be replenishing often, so I am sure I will be heading back over to take another peek before Christmas arrives.

Oh how I would love to stop by there. I saw so many things that would be perfect in my house. I love those bottle brush trees and glitter houses of any kind! And all the white too. I am having a giveaway over at my glory feathers blog so be sure to stop by and enter.

You are fortunate to have so many great places to shop so close by. I too love bottle brush trees and thanks to you and Monti's, I have some new ideas how to display them in my home.

I told a friend of mine that bottle brush trees were becoming very popular on many of the blogs that I follow. While we were at the local thrift store today, I found one... just one. It was the most dilapidated thing I'd ever seen! "Oh yeah," she said, "I can see why they're so popular!" Probably had to be there, but funny, nonetheless! I'll continue to be on the look-out for them. Wish there was a shop like yours around here!
Blessings!

Around here the vintage bottle brush trees have really increased in value. I've always loved them.
I also collect the vintage sheep from nativity sets. The old ones from Italy are my favorite. They're so darn cute I keep them out all year. Maybe they remind me of my childhood and that's why I love them. Have you noticed if those little old sheep a popular item in your area too?
Best,
Kathy

So THAT'S how you get bottlebrush trees to stand upright! I'm going to upgrade my "forest" this weekend with a visit to Junkee for some sturdy bases.

I love all the neutrals. It makes everything look so calm and serene. It reminds me of the way my mother decorated when I was a child.

I'm beginning to adore those bottle brush trees and who can't use more stockings. When we unpacked my stuff this year my 15 year old son said "Mom why do we have 12 stockings when you only have 2 kids!"
