Last Sunday, before going to the show at the Expo, we went out to breakfast. I wanted to share the curtains that were hanging in the window at the breakfast place. Are these the most creative use of old ties you've ever seen? Simple burlap and neckties used as tabs, I could see these in a den or a boys room...just so danged cute that I had to share.
The restaurant is named Gravy, (and, although none of us ordered it, you should have seen the size of their biscuits and gravy!) over in north Portland and the food was pretty fabulous, which explained the more than an hour wait for a table. I split a meal with my daughter, and I was really glad I did. My son-in-law ordered a ridiculously giant omelet that came with equally giant hash browns and we all were so stunned at it's size that I took a picture of it as well. Mmmmm, yummy.
I am thinking it will take a lifetime of Sundays to get through all of the incredible restaurants here in Portland. And just yet another reason I am beyond thrilled to be living up here, in one of the coolest cities on the planet.

I just love your spirit! I've been following your blog last yar since my sudden divorce from my ex-husband of 30 years. I so appreciate your attitude - you've been a wonderful role model for me. Thanks so much.

Portland does sound wonderful. So much of our attitude start with seeing simple things and allowing their beauty to set in. I am often inspired by your posts.
Enjoy your day!

What is that on that plate? Looks like spaghetti, and a LEMON? Sure isn't a Southern breakfastr!!!
So glad you are thriving in Portland.

It's a omlet covered in gravy - yes, gravy - with a side of hashbrowns.

God's plan in God's time. It is so not easy when we are waiting on Him - but it is always worth it.
May He bless you and your Bob (I have a Bob too) now and in the future. You deserve to be happy and cherished.

I love the necktie burlap curtains! What a great way to reuse ties. I agree with you, Portland is a fabulous city. What a wonderful place to be relocated to.

Tracey -- you'll have to try South Park downtown -- the most wonderful Spanish food this side of Madrid.
