Oh ya, baby. (And I do mean that in the fondest of terms.)
I wanted to share this poster the other day with all of you, but my computer was acting up something awful. So awful in fact that I thought it was done.
Dead.
I spent more than five hours dinking around with it, trying to get at my precious Tumbleweed Cotillion files with no luck. Then, just as I was about to throw myself on the floor of my office and scream and cry, the Sewing Queen of northern Nevada (my Mom) called. I was holding back tears as I told her of my problems, and she began asking me computer questions.
Her: Have you done a recovery?
Me: A what? (Was this my Mom, who I had introduced to my cheesey little Printshop Program just a couple of years back?)
Her: A recovery. A system recovery...um...is that what it's called? Oh, you know what I mean.
Me:(Letting out a looooooong, loud frustrated sigh.) Yes, I know what you mean, and no, I don't want to lose what I have and start over clean, I want what I already had!
Her: Not that kind of recovery. Oh gosh, what's it called? Listen. Go to...hmmmm...let me think now....Control Panel. Is that right? No, no wait. Programs..was that right? Let me see here...
Me: Mom...(very dramatically, with an eye roll she didn't see on the phone or she would have smacked me.)
Her: Yes, yes. Hmmm, yes. I think that's right. Yes! Go there.
Me: Where?!
Her: Programs. Accessories, system tools..see, it's there! System Restore.
Step by step she walked me through and ...she restored my files and saved my day!
You know, it's pretty darned cool when your Mom, one and half months shy of 76 can give you techie support! (I guess what they say really is true,in pretty much any situation, just "ask your Mother." Thanks Mom!)
So, anyway.
The poster for our big faire is up above in this post (thanks to the sewing Queen!) and here's the scoop:
We're working overtime to make this upcoming Tumbleweed Cotillion our very best to date. Lots of fabulous vendors with great merchandise and inspiration galore! (We've got some out-of-towners participating as well! If you're interested in being a vendor at the show, click here.) Mark your calendars, we'd love to see you there!!!!

Your mom inspires! As my own kids are leaving the nest, it is heartening to know I can be there for them in unforeseen ways even into their adulthood. I'm pretty sure I won't be giving THEM computer advice, however. lol

Tracey,
She is, afterall....a queen, is she not? :-) Apparently, "Queens" like "Mothers" are Jills-of-all-trades. By the way LOVE your new banner! It says so much about your wonderful style. Tami E.

Yeah well it's not true that you'd ask my Mom about a computer problem. Your mom is a gem!
Best,
Kathy

Great story about your Mom, and I love the name you've given her! I do believe my mom is the sewing queen of ND (or once was)! Computer savvy, she is not. Great poster!

Tracey send me a copy and I will get it forwarded. Also I was thinking about your blog on Sallys. I wonder how long you will be able to boycott. I heard it was sent to corp. head quarters, I hope you don't get 86. I have hats and sun glasses in 41 basement just in case you need them. Just kidding, tell the sewing queen/ mama. I think shes a rock star.

Your mom rocks! My mom can't even turn her computer ON. I always call my 21-year-old son - he is brilliant with computers.

Awwwww! Lucky you. Just love my mom too even though she has no clue how to turn one on and does not want to learn but I think my mom rocks. Thanks for reminding us how great our moms are.

I love it. We are still our parents children.
No more scraped knees, unless you are Pricess Grace like me, but Mom's can still fix anything. Great Story!

When it comes to computers, what Mom's don't know, the younger kids will!
I had to use my recovery thingy awhile ago too, but it took some serious heartburn moments before I figured that out. I needed your Mom!
Good luck with the computer issues and the great Faire. I'll send the info along to friends in Reno.

Moms are amazing...so glad she could help! NOW - you need to get a little 'flash drive', 4g should be good. Put it in the ol 'puter and BACK UP your 'my documents' file and any other place you keep your work!! I have two...just in case. You can always get new software but re-creating work that took HOURS to design would be impossible! Store it somewhere safe. Hopefully you'll never need it but if you do...you will have it!
Blessings!
