Um...Dress form that is. It seems I have a bit of a collection going and I swear, I couldn't pick a favorite if my life depended on it.
We'll be showcasing five different dress forms at the Alameda show, and I love them all. Some are vintage, others are newly created, in decoupage or canvas, like the one shown here. I love the vintage feeling they can add to any room I put them in, and they work great for holding jewelry, hats, and anything else I can dream up.
A close up on the front detail....
And the back detail...
I spent a bit of time last night adding the final foofy touches to make her special and confidentially, she's such a cutie patootie that I fear the other dress forms in the group will be jealous.

She's a beauty!

Hi Tracey
I was in TJMAXX yesterday and found the most beautiful gold dishes with poppies on them. I can see a croissant sandwich and fruit on them this summer! They were $2.99 each and they jumped in my cart all by themselves! I also found the birdcage lamp a few weeks ago for $15. The bird finial was sans tail but I knew he would rehab at my house! Too darn cute! I LOVE TJMAXX!

I've acquired two dress forms in the last 8 months or so! One is truly vintage with the muslin cover and stencils in great condition. Her name is Kathleen Kelly, after my favorite movie character(meg ryan in You've Got Mail) and she resides in my foyer. She sports a cluster of antique necklaces and pins and always a hat.
The second one is new and she is black wrought iron (?) she is also beautiful. She's upstairs in my guest bedroom/work room. She needs a name. They're both so much fun!
My hubby and college senior son are completely horrified by these dress forms! They just don't get it. That makes me laugh just a little.
Your's are darling! mary

I so want a dress form! Suddenly I am seeing them everywhere - in blogs, in my favorite shops. I'm thinking of getting a new one and 'aging' her. I love what you did with this one.

Tracey...I love her! She is so beautiful!!! I really adore how you finished her off with the "foophing". The sweet buttons added just the right amount of tasteful elegance.
Thank you for sharing your beautiful pictures.

I think she's my favorite yet! She is so much more simple than her cousins. When you bought the fringe/fabric/whatever it is, I had no clue what you were going to do with it, but I knew you'd do something fabulous.

T -
She is lovely! And as so many others have mentioned, could we see the other "gals"? (Or have we seen them all and I forgot?)
I have a new friend who came home with me from Olympia. Maggie Rose. Thanks for the inspiration!
