She's a blonde! I think she's adorable, and so is he. They're a perfect pair. And they'll be right at home with the rest of my collection. Lisa (Oh, you must know Lisa, she's one of my BFF's in PTown, who also happens to be a blonde!) surprised me with them in the mail, (be still my heart!) along with the vintage wedding cake bells, which I also adore. I'm guessing they're from the early 1960's...anyone else care to guess?
Thank you Lisa. (You know what I love!) I will think of you each time I look at this sweet little golden haired bride and her beau.

Neat!! Looks similar to the bride and groom from my parents cake (early 1970').
What a neat thing to collect.

I am going to start looking for some of those little bells now!

What a beautiful bride and groom! I had flowers on top of my cake. It was the early '70's. If I had found a cake topper I had liked I think I would have used one. Thanks for sharing.

I got married in the 70's too, and I don't think we thought the idea of a couple on top of the cake was hip enough! I had flowers and a blown glass heart on mine! (Oh, I thought it looked so cool at the time!!!)

When larry and I got married [he is my husband who died]. We had this bride and groom bears. They were not my style, but a gift at my shower from my mom, she thought they were so cute.... ugh... I couldn't hurt her feelings, so we had them on our cake. ugh.... A month before Larry got sick the head broke of the boy bear. I freaked out and threw them away. I was scarred it was a sign it was. [I dont know how it broke his head was just laying on the shelve] So when the big bear and I got married, I was not going to take a chance we had single cream puff swans just beautiful. but I do wish we had a top.

You are so sweet to blog about this and you are so welcome. When we got married in 91, I had a lovely three tiered white lacy looking cake with red roses for decoration. I didn't really get into the whole vintage thing until after I had kids and had to furnish our home on a budget. If I had it to do over, I would pick the same cake only have pink roses instead of red and add one of the toppers from my collection.
Hugs to you!

Tracey, I am the person who bought the altered wire Arc de Triomphe lamp with fabric shade back at the Nov 2008 Cotillion. I think your daughter made it? Anyway, it is very lonely by itself and needs a matching friend... is it possible to make another one for me to purchase?

I did the wedding cake for my older sister's wedding cake and made a two owl (she collected owls?) cake topper which she didn't much appreciate but they ended up divorced anyway. My point is there weren't many cake toppers available 10 years ago to choose from. Same old. Your collection is so nostalgic and I wonder if people loved them as much back then. It's pretty much anything goes these days and so many choices but back in the 50's and 60's I imagine it was pretty simple. Your posts are wonderful and the first thing I look forward to in the morning (coffee first then your blog), thank you for sharing with us.

Tracey,
I just found your blog and I love reading it. I feel a kinship with you, being divorced myself after 28 years, I cried when I read your Bus Ride post and laughed about your adventure with the shoe! Thanks for making me smile! Happy Spring! Victoria Lynn
