These guys always know when things are not quite right. They can sense things like that. They've been following me from room to room, just reminding me that I'm not alone. See how they're sleeping? They like to lay in the doorway, so when I finish on the computer I'll have to walk right there and they'll spring into action, wagging tails and sloppy licks, just letting me know that they're glad I'm home. (Oh, and they'll want me to sing the Mary Tyler Moore theme song again---they just love that.)
Ya, whoever said you can't buy happiness never had a dog.

Could they be any sweeter? I agree that happiness can often be found in our furry friends. :)

And they'll never trade us in for a younger or richer owner :) Now that's LOVE!
Best,
Kathy

Dog love = true love.
My golden retriever, Jessie, is the same. I couldn't ask for a more loyal companion!

Amen!! Through the toughest of trials & tribulations, we can always depend on our little 'angels in disguise'! They know just how to dish out some of the BEST 'medicine' of all!

They're not called man's....make that ladies best friend for no reason. What would we do without those big brown eyes and doggie smooches?

....or a cat!! I have been very sick for the last 10 days, and our obnoxious, stuck-up, opinionated, obstinate cat has never left my side for more than a few minutes. Guess I have to change my description of her :^)
Your pups are the sweetest, best friends a gal could have!
Blessings to all three of you,
Jaybird

Although I have had cats most of my adult life, I had a dog during childhood and early teen years.
My mother and I always talked about how that dog just KNEW when one of us was upset about something. During this time, my father died suddenly of a heart attack (I was ten) and I think she felt it her responsibility to look after us after that.
Ii am very glad they are taking care of you. :)

Oh yes, I agree with your last statement! A warm furry creature that loves you is love perfected! We have some pugs that fill our lives with so much joy, I don't know what we'd ever do without them...

Yes, I agree. There is NOTHING like a dog. There is no other animal on earth that behaves like a dog-not even humans! It's no accident to me that GOD spelled backwards is DOG!

just lost my 12yr old Viszla in Feb. I still walk in the house and expect to see her. she slept with me, followed me room to room. even when my next door neighbors had a home invasion robbery that left me scared, I felt safe if she was with me. the best dog, or I should say family member.

Love the picture. Nothing like the love of a sweet pet to set things right. I hope things improve for you, I am in awe of all you have done and your fabulous attitude. You are a special person and you are smart, too. I think you have a good understanding of what is going on with your ex and that is huge. Keep your chin up, you have a wonderful future ahead of you, not to mention a pretty nice present!

I just read yesterday's post and wanted to thank you for sharing. In our hurt and anger, we aren't able to see the "lostness" of the one who has harmed us. Not that it lets them off the hook, but it allows us to go deeper and may even spark a bit of compassion for the offender. What a sad, sad life he must have to have given up everything for a fleeting pleasure. Great lesson for us all.

What lover-bugs these babies are for you, Tracey! Makes me miss my Katie all over again. With perfect clarity I remember her devotion, love and doggy-kisses. With delight. :o)

Thats so sweet Tracey, i just love your blog. :-) I had a dog once, who always knew when i was upset.. she would come and sit by me with her head on my lap, and just comfort me, and look up at me with those brown puppy dog eyes... whoever said animals dont know anything, they are very wrong! It was beautiful... ahh memories.
I hope you are feeling better. :)
