A little more cupcake love...this time for a baby shower.

A_baby_boy_oh_boy     I'm off to a baby shower this morning. I made the party favors, (cupcakes, of course!)and I wanted to share them with all of you.

A_baby_boy_2_2 They look so sweet, and they were oh, so easy to make.

A_baby_boy_1

I melted 1 part light blue candy melts and 6 parts cream colored candy melts, along with 1 teaspoon of Crisco in the microwave, 20 seconds at a time to soften it up until creamy. I then poured the melted candy melts on to a piece of freezer paper and let it sit until firm. I then used a butter curler to cut the curls. After frosting the cupcakes, I sprinkled the shavings on top of the frosting.

A_baby_boy     My friend that is hosting the shower ordered the acetate 4"x4" boxes and double sided satin ribbon online. I lined the bottom with baby blue tissue and set the sweet little cupcakes in. Once I added the bow and tag with a verse, they were all set.

As you surely have guessed, she's having a sweet baby boy.

Awwww... 'Babies' seems to be the theme this week!! They're always such a sweet thing to talk about, aren't they? And those cupcakes are just soooooo beautiful! Almost too pretty to eat! (Notice I said "almost")... Donna

You've done it again kiddo. Absolutely marvelous darling.

So very cute, Tracey . . . as always! Could you please share where you found the clear boxes. I think I have to have some of those on hand. :o)

Thanks again for sharing and inspiring!

Carla

They're beautiful. What a special friend you are.

I must remember this! Too cute.
As always so creative!

Tracey, these are just precious!!! You have such a way about you...making a sweet adorned cupcake take a place of honor in a simple clear box!!!! Beautiful my friend. xxoo, Dawn

All I have to say is. . . your friends are sure lucky to have YOU for a friend!!

By the way, what number tip do you use for your frosting? Is it a 32?

Blessings,

Sher

Beautiful as always! Do you have a special tip as to preventing the cupcakes from rolling around inside the box?
Best,
Kathy

How did you keep the cupcakes from dancing around inside that box? They're adorable.

And congratulations on the baby headed your way!

Lovely! I was wondering the dame thing! How do you keep them from tipping?

Sher, it's a giant star tip that I used. #2D.
LOL!!!!!!! For those of you wondering how the boxed cupcakes don't roll around...hmmm, I am not sure what you're talking about. They are favors. They are not meant to be tossed over your shoulder to the back seat of the car, or dropped into a bag. They are handed out individually to each guest to take home (by carefully sitting it on the car seat I am thinking) I took all 20 of them to the shower stacked up in a big box and they made it just fine...
does this help??
Tracey

I am amazed at the cuteness on here everyday! Darling cupcakes! Tracey - Do you have an updated "due date" for your Cupcake & Cookie DVD that is currently sold out? You had mentioned May 1st or sooner and I am trying to be a patient girl but it is difficult for me! :)

Hi Tracy, thanks for sharing the idea for the shavings. Could you share your recipe for the frosting??? I know that it must be delicious!! Thanks for more inspiration!

Where did you find the little boxes? I'm doing a wedding shower soon with those colors even. My friend said I was making too many desserts......so I wanted to send cupcakes home as the favors!

What a cute idea!
I think what the girl's meant by being tossed around in the box is how did they not slide from side to side?

They did slide ever so slightly in each box, but remember, they have a bit of weight to them, with the frosting and all, so they only moved a tiny bit. With that being said, I was careful with the huge box of boxed cupcakes. I had them on the front passenger seat where the box wasn't sliding all over.
I guess what I am trying to say is- you do need to be somewhat careful with them, like a cake coming home from the bakery.
Does this explain things a little bit better? I hope so!
Tracey

Thanks for opening the Order Form back up for your Cookies and Cupcake how-to editions! I have placed my order and can't wait to receive the DVD!

I love your party favors! They are very fancy. The quote you added is perfect.

I LOVE those cupcakes.

That is by far the most gorgeous favor ever. Oh to be a lucky guest at that shower. Do tell where the clear boxes were from.
Thanks!

super cute!

These are wonderful.
Cookie

oh so precious cupcakes!
bj

Oh my goodness that is beautiful. Bet it tastes as good as it looks!

These are so lovely and precious!

Once again you've caused me to stare in amazement at my computer screen with my jaw dropped at your beautiful creatiions. Gorgeous!...and thank you for the how-to tips! Does your cupcake DVD show how to make your frosting look so ruffled using the 2D tip? I love the way you 'ruffle' the frosting on your cupcakes, like on the double choc. cuppies with red hearts and that glorious giant cupcake you made. Thanks again for the inspiration for living a beautiful life! Oh and congrats on the mini cupcake that is still in the oven (due Dec)!
