A petite Christmas time dinner soire'
I had a friend over for a little Christmas time dinner last night. We met years and years ago, when my Mom had her gift shop and she was a customer. We rekindled our friendship when she attended the tumbleweed Cotillion and it's like no time has passed at all. So nice. She is over the top creative and such fun to be around!
I wanted to share my table set up. Remember when I did the brunch for my girlfriend last spring?
Well, it's almost the identical table setting, complete with my all time favorite black and white toile cones, but with a definite holiday slant.(see the holly?)
I always save all my little table setting items. (see the "You" name tag in the holly filled cone? "Me" and "You" works for everyone!) I keep them all in a drawer in the living room hutch, and they're then there when I need them. So easy and quick to set up, and it looks like I took an hour. (Now, how cool is that?)
Remember this, when you are creating something sweet for your table.
Tracey,
That table looks sooo wonderful, just right for a girls' holiday dinner, or gabfest!! Can't wait for tour tomorrow to see what else you have been up to.

Hey, I have those SAME white Plaltzgraff white dishes. Do yours get silverware metal marks on them? Mine do, and it's hard to get off. If yours get those marks too, how do you get them off?
Beautiful table setting, as usual!!!
Blessings,
Sher

So lovely, and I love the black and white for Christmas. You are a good friend to go to the trouble of setting a table for two.. I'm sure she had a wonderful time.

Beautiful as usual! I made some small cones for my Christmas tree - I should try some larger ones for my breakfast nook.

Everything is so lovely here Tracey - the red berry trees make such a festive pop to the table. Love the mix of fabrics in b/w, and the cones on the chairs are gorgeous - your friend must have been overwhelmed by it all!
So, are we GO for the tour tomorrow? I'm planning to post either late tonight or early in the morning. I think you may have quite a few people participating - you may be a very tired hostess by the end of the day! However, it's great fun and thanks again for organizing this.

I wish I lived near you, because you would be such a fun friend!
It's great that you can take your existing scheme and just make a few additions to create a decorative change. The black and white is good for every season. It's beautiful with chartreuse green in Spring and yellow for summer.
I haven't tried it, but I have heard that Barkeepers Friend works for taking off utensil marks on white dishes. It's supposed to work great for old pyrex. It's a powder and comes in a shaker container like cleanser. I used to buy it in the super market to clean my copper and stainless steel.

Hi,
my first time to post but love your style of decorating. Do you start out with a certain size of paper to make the cones? Love them and wanted to try those for Christmas.
Blessings this season

So cute! Love the little wish tickets and bells. Could you share your source for them? The toile is so classic. Love your blog. I rediscovered it today and have really enjoyed looking back through the older posts for inspiration. Thank you!
