A lil' peek at my table setting for turkey day
(**edited Thanksgiving night to add- I have no idea why the blue looks so bright in these photos. It is actually a very soft Robin's egg blue!)
Happy Thanksgiving to you all, dear friends!
Here is the peek I promised yesterday. I guess late is better than never, right? I just couldn't seem to get caught up around here last night, nor this morning.
So...Here it is.... I went for simple. Homespun burlap with my favorite Robin's egg blue accents. Kind of restful but still harvest.
The turkey is in the oven (Please don't fail me, Bobby Flay!) and the dressing is ready to go.
I made my son's favorite Thanksgiving dessert, Maple Pumpkin spice cake. It rivals the best home made pumpkin pie, I tell you. Mmmmmm.
*sigh* It feels good to be hosting Thanksgiving once again.
The table looks so beautiful! And so does that cake! Happy Thanksgiving!

I LOVE it! Simple and beautiful. Could I ask the name/maker of both the turky plates and the blue ones? Also, did you buy the burlap by the yard or as a ready-made tablecloth?
And the cake looks yum too!
Glad it was a good day for you and yours.

I saw the acorn frames earlier in your blog and drove to the nearest Super Wal-Mart to buy as many as I could. My best friend and I both bought 7! (We cleaned them out!) While I was there I asked about "For the Love of Pumpkins" and bought two copies (one a Christmas gift for the same best friend). My friend found out through the author's sister's blog (wow a mouthful) that the books were sold in the produce department of the Super Wal-Mart. I asked the bakery lady, who sent me to the deli, who sent me to the guy stocking apples... finally to the lady rolling crates of onions from the stockroom. She went back in the stockroom and brought me out two copies and said they were put away after Halloween. So to all those out there who want that book, they might need to ask for someone to look in the back room!
HAPPY THANKSGIVING!

Turquoise and cream, burlap - total class. Thank you for offering such fashion plates (no pun intended - kind of) of your table and home. You need to publish a book. I mean it.

After getting all worked up about the acorn frames I forgot to say that your table setting is exquisite! I love the untraditional colors. My Christmas is black & white toile with lime green!

That combination of warm neutral & robin's egg blue is one of my all time favorites! Beautiful! And, may I ask about those pretty blue plates? Where did they come from?
