My Christmas mojo has returned....

Christmas_decor_009     ...and it's only November 24th! Oh yes, I am feeling the Christmas spirit. Big time.
I realized last night (and I was very surprised to discover ) that I am actually looking forward to Christmas this year! Last year I pretty much skipped the entire holiday, and had only been moved into my cottage a couple of weeks at that point in time. Now, a year later, I am mentally ready to dig through the 15 giant rubbermade tubs of Christmas decor to see what will stay, and what will go.
Going from a large house (about 4,500 square feet) with five Christmas trees, and too many collections to count (Santas and snowmen and pine trees....) to a smaller home (about 1,600) means I don't need all of this..stuff. Not only that, some of the items have memories attached that I'd just as soon donate.
*sigh* Bittersweet, but freeing too, in a way.
So, the Christmas music is blaring, the cider is on the stove, and a roaring fire is ablaze in my charming dining room fireplace. Oh yes, it's beginning to look a lot like Christmas here on Norman Drive.
*sigh*The dogs think I've gone over the deep end.

Happy for you...enjoy yourself!

I'll take your donations! Hee, hee!! I am sure you will make your cottage lovely and I cannot wait to see pics. Hope your Christmas season is blessed!

WooHoo, Tracey to the rescue! I have no desire to put up the tree or anything! Well, shopping, yes, but the same old decorations, Blah!!!!

BTW, before you donate, don't forget the Newlyweds. I bet they would love to have them as starters and also, they may have some fond childhood memories to some of them.

Thanks for the inspiration!!!

Tracey,

Send some of that mojo this way please. i started to go thru the bins and realized that other than a couple of things I really don't want to get the stuff out just yet. I am going to let the "look" evolve slowly. In other words I am just going with the flow for now. Can't wait to see your home decorated.

Yay! I can't wait to see what it looks like when you are done!

I can't wait to see your pictures!

You might really enjoy decorating a smaller home and making each detail really special.

You might want to try selling some of your decorations that you don't plan on using.

You go girl! Merry Christmas early, and I hope you have a wonderful season! Cant wait to see what you come up with!:>)

When I moved out of the large family home to a smaller version just for me, I dispersed all the old Christmas hings to my adult children who cherish them as part of their childhood. I have since amassed a select, but more "me" group of decorations. We are all happy!

I'm glad that your healing continues. Make this Christmas YOURS. It's all about letting go of the past and moving forward into a new and (hopefully!) happier future. You go girl!

Dear Tracey...
Good for you! I have been enjoying your blog for a while now, and you are so clever and talented, your pictures are so beautiful ~ talk about "eye-candy".... I look forward to seeing pics of your Christmas decorating, I just know it will be awesome..

You go girl, and enjoy every minute of it !!!

Good for you! Can't wait to see what you end up keeping.
