Oh ya, what can't you do with these babies? Pure inspiration is what they are. If you thought they were made to simply hang on a tree, you've been missing out. They're just so perfect in any room, in any arrangement.
So warm and rich, with that shiny, shimmery glow as the light plays off them. I have them everywhere. Every. Where.
I filled my beverage dispenser with them (I just turned the spout towards the wall)
In the kitchen, mixed in with some reproduction mercury glass pine cone ornaments...(I think these are my favorites in the entire cottage)
In the dining room in my old thrifted urn, in my favorite punch bowl....
They make perfect place cards (This is a tip from my upcoming workshop tomorrow! The sticker shown is from Martha Stewarts line at Michaels)
Oh, and on the tree (of course!)

That was a wonderful display of eye candy!

Wow! Your tree is gorgeous! It all looks so beautiful. What a great idea for the beverage dispenser...I never thought of turning the spout towards the wall and using it as a jar!

Wait! What if you turn the spout out and hang a teardrop ornament from it? Would look a bit like you are pouring ornaments for serving at the cottage.....Maybe a teacup or two holding an ornament next to it?
The tree is spectacular, the ornament displays are indeed an inspiration. Keep it up and I may actually be forced to do my own decorating. I do have one of those pinecone ornaments hanging in the kitchen, does that count? They are my favorite "new" item this year.

Beautiful! I love all of your ideas. I've been picking up vintage ornaments here and there. I'm still working on my decorating, but I do have an old wire locker basket sitting on my mantel and it is full of ornaments. As soon as I get the rest of my decorating done I will take some pictures.
Also wanted to let you know that I am having a fun little give-away on my blog. Feel free to pop on over.

Such holiday loveliness! Thanks for sharing!

Lovely!
Several years ago I bought a couple boxes of green balls that had been made in the U.S. to save against the day when we'd suffer breakage and wouldn't want to buy imported decorations (not to get political or anything, but the reason is that I don't like to buy holiday items made in places where the makers are forbidden from celebrating the holiday in question - not choosing to is one thing, but having it be illegal is another). Anyway...we haven't had the breakages I anticipated and was just wondering the other day what to do with these ornaments.
You've given me such inspiration! I have a large brass and glass vase that I'm betting will be awesome with some green and gold ornaments tucked within.
Thank you for the idea!

I so need to come sit in your house and bask in the Christmas-y goodness. We are in the throes of remodeling, the house is in chaos and plaster dust...not much in the way of decorations here.
Thank you for sharing your home with us. Yes, I really need to sit in the glow over at your house.

OMG, that's so pretty! I absolutely adore glass ball ornaments and always stop myself from buying more because Gootz says we don't have more room on the tree. But now I don't have to! I can just pile them up everywhere! Yay!

I LOVE the tree. Is it real or artificial? I've always wanted a tree that has the spaces between the branches like yours, be it real or fake.

I'm relatively new to the 'blog world' & just wanted to say that yours is one of my favorites! also, your photos are always so so gorgeous. I especially love the way you put things 'together' and also the blurry edges of your pics. I'm looking forward to seeing more of your Christmas decorations!
