Have you ever noticed that if you add a bit of ribbon to a thing, it looks suddenly oh, so much more charming? More finished really.
I have ribbon everywhere in my cottage.
Tied on baskets, on my little accessories, on jars.
Why, even just looking at a vintage gym basket full of ribbon snippets inspires me to do a little nesting.
*sigh* Ribbon simply inspires me in every possible way. How 'bout you?

That is so true. I tie ribbons to my Pokeno gifts. It makes them seems so much more special!

I must admin I have a slight addiction to ribbon. I can't walk past it in the store w/o buying some. I love the look of tying a little of it on things around the house.

I just love ribbon, too. All of yours, throughout your cottage, looks so homey. I think that's what ribbon does...makes things look homey, more soft, a bit more interesting. Very enjoyable post and your pictures are so good.

I LOVE ribbon too. I'm so happy that it's easier to find the really soft thick velvet ribbon now. Like you I seem to use either plain black or the black and white check. By the way I really like your dishes in the first shot. Would you mind telling me who made them. I also have a thing about dishes too :)
Best,
Kathy

Oh yes, I am a ribbon collector from way back! I keep finding new and beautiful ribbons that I can't resist.

I am right there with you! I even bought a bunch of vintage bobbins to wind my ribbon onto. Ribbon is second only to buttons in the embellishment department.

But you have the knack of just the right amount of just the right ribbon!
Congrats on your classes! What an excellent idea. I'm sure your classes will be a huge hit.

Beautiful!! The phrase- "oh, just tie a bow on it and it will be fabulous" has been uttered more than a few times around our home! After seeing your beautiful pics, we will change it to " just tie a ribbon on it and it will be fabulous!!"
Great Job!

I'm always buying wired ribbon on clearance after all the holidays. I think they make a gift look so elegant -
I love the gym basket with the ribbon!

I just love ribbon too. I have a bunch of those little keys. It never occurred to me to tie one on the end of a ribbon.

Ya, know Tracy, I'm not sure if it's the ribbon, or just you. Whatever you do inspires me. You just have a natural knack for "the details" that makes things special.

Ribbon! What a great thing! Yards and yards and yards! I've just completed, well almost completed a project using a LOT of ribbon and a lot of my buttons. Your post was timely, made me smile a lot, because I just came down from my sewing room to forage and check my computor, nice to know there are more like minded people out there. Have a book on ribbon flower making, and the author said if you see some ribbon that you really love, buy at least a yard of it then and there, because you never know.......
