A little something to make it feel like home...
Here are the ingredients for the goodie bags that will be in the guest rooms at the bed and breakfast. Some treats to eat, a little game to play, and a personalized handmade tag...You could just as easily adapt this idea for a guest room when you have company that you want to make feel oh, so
special.
I showed you the Cadbury candy bars yesterday. Now, let's see what else we have here. First, there's bottled water. Just remove the label and add your own. How easy is that?
Home-made trail mix, with the perfect shade of green jelly bellies, mixed nuts, golden raisins and pastel blue M&M's (it all coordinates oh so well with the bride's colors!)....quite a yummy little midnight treat, don'tcha think?
Here is a word search I created for folks to have a little fun with
in their room. All the words hidden are about the bride and groom! Oh,
and of course, color coordinated pencils to do the search. (the Maid-of-Honor ordered them for the shower and it's impossible to see it in my photograph, but they each say "Happily ever after" on them)
The gift tags are done with copies of old photos of the bride and the family member or dear friend staying in the room. On the reverse side the bride will write a note to each guest...The top photo in this post shows the bride-to-be on her very first airplane ride, seated on her Grandma's lap...*sigh* it's sure to bring a tear to the Sewing Queen of northern Nevada's eye.
That is such a wonderful idea! I love how detailed you are...I'm learning so much from reading your blog! It's 4:50 AM and I can't sleep so I'm reading blogs!

Tracey! I don't have any idea what your Real World work is, but if it doesn't have something to do with event planning & detailing, you are in the wrong job! So thoughtful, so insightful, so treasured...all the ingredients of real memory making... ;) Thank you for sharing all of this and congratulations on a job well done.

What wonderful & thoughtful treats! Anyone would feel so special to find this awaiting their arrival!
. . . & I must agree. . . Tracey you should start your own event planning business! You are so gifted in that area. . .& there's nothing like having your 'work' being something you love to do! I just know you would be the best at it!

Tracey, did you take off the original water label before applying the new paper and also I was surprised when I made a trip out this morning to pick up some paper and candy bars for my daughter's shower that they don't put hershey's candy bars in foil and paper now. Never noticed before. I only found the cadbury candy bars in foil and paper. Thanks for the great ideas, Debbie

Yes, the reason I bought the Cadbury bars was for that very reason. Darn those Hershey guys! They quit doing the foil (probably because of folks like me...)
I also did remove the water bottle labels, but didn't worry if there were pieces still there, as they were soon covered with scrapbook paper.

Such a lovely basket of gifts! I think this is such a thoughtful treat for out of town guests. My mom made a similar basket for our family guests when I got married. I love everything you put in...so coordinated. The tags are awesome...what a fun idea!

Tracey, these are darling and you have gone beyond the nth degree with details. Your guests will feel so special -- especially with the photograph gift tags with the special note. Very cozy.

What a fantastic idea! I never would have thought of the addition of a game, but very clever! So...how does one get an invitation to this event of the season? :) I'm looking forward to seeing more pics as things move along.
