THANK YOU...for bringing this to our attention. scary. last thing anyone needs is a lawsuit. I am thinking of deleting all my inspiration Friday pictures...are you? take care,Gail

Ohh, I love these photos, to me more inspirational than magazines, because they're real people!

Becky H

who would be bothered by free advertising? Love your idea of inspiration from your own home. As a matter of fact I think I like it better. Its not just a picture in a magazine, you actually did it. Of course you run the risk of me asking questions,(good for a laugh). The ever inspiring Tracey.

Heather J

I agree with Becky H ... pictures of your home are much more inspiring. A good move on your part to change direction with Inspiration Fridays. After working in a law firm for 10 years, I was too chicken to show magazine inspiration on my blog. You're inspirational every day anyway! ;-)

Thimbleanna

Indeed it does work! Much better to see your own inspiration. Love your lighting -- very pretty and soothing. Lighting is an area where I'm always lacking, yet it's can really make a room!

Tracey

To answer Gail's question, No. I am not going to remove my previous photos from magazines. Also, while I now understand there are copyright issues, and want to respect this, I think the blog that posted the alarming warnings missed point. Once a photo is sold to a magazine, it belongs to that magazine, not the photographer (I think this is how it works anyhow, from my friend Holly's experience with Better homes and Gardens magazine)and with this said, I am having a very hard time picturing a magazine suing a person for sharing their great magazine photo in such a positive way.(If anything, it promotes sales of these kinds of magazines) For this reason, I am going to leave the previous pictures, but I will no longer be able to share magazine spreads, unless I give full credit to the magazine which is hard to do with an old page (the magazine's name may not be on the page) but doable with any that are identified.

Love the photos of your own home. Inspiration times seven! I agree with you about the magazine articles. You never know what will trip us up these days, but I know I went out and bought last issue of Romantic Homes because of Cindy's feature of it??? So??? But your home is far more lovely than any magazine because you give it such life!

martha

The tender photos of your real life abode hold so much more charm than the magzine pix. I do appreciate you showing us your creativity in the context of your own place. Pretty magazine photos are a dime a dozen, bu your personal illustrations are precious. Thanks.

Amanda

Tracey,
I love your Inspiration Friday pics. Too cute! You find the greatest stuff. Seeing magazine pictures can be inspiring but I truly believe that when it's something you've done yourself it's far more inspiring. Seems like it's more doable. Also wanted to compliment you on your way.too.cute. invitations. What a fabulous idea. There was an article on the Kennedy school and the men who purchased/refurbished it awhile back in Cottage Living. It was a great inspiring piece. They've done other local projects as well. Have a great time with the shower.

I love the idea, and I have already been sharing some of my home with all of you. I love the candles under the cloche!!!
Have a wonderful weekend!

I love that little birdcage lamp! I need to go to TJ Maxx more often!

I don't think I'm going to delete my old inspiration friday posts either. I never claimed them to be my own photos and on most of them I mentioned the magazine.

Mary Dwyer

I love the bird lamp! I stumbled on your blog recently and have really enjoyed reading it. Your shop looks darling.

I love birdsnests too. I have quite a few real ones that I found on the ground after windstorms and I'm always amazed at the "craftsmanship".

I just want to say it sounds like you've got it together with your personal trials. I am also a single (mother). I was married for 12 years and have been single for 12. My oldest is getting ready to go to Army Basic training and my youngest will be a HS Senior. Even after all this time I have wallowing poor-me days and moments of bitter resentment. Thank heavens for family, pets, baking, old books, buttons, crafts, music nature and all the other goodies that can lift our spirits.
